FPLeague HistoryFPLeague was started in 1997 by two high-school students, Luke Alsobrook and Jorden Seamands. Luke and Jorden battled head-to-head in 1997 and saw their number grow to three by the end of the 1998 season. They recruited many of their friends for the 1999 season and saw FPLeague's membership explode to twenty-three. FPLeague was even sponsored by J&J Auto Service for a car detail to the predictor with the most correct from Week 8 forward. It was also during the 1999 season that Jorden, with the help of fellow classmate Chad Owens, officially named the Football Predictions League, FPLeague.FPLeague saw a sharp decline in membership for the 2000 season (down to twelve) due to member graduation from high-school and the dispersal of its members to various colleges across the nation. Membership spiked again to twenty-seven during the 2002 season and remained stable around the mid-twenties from 2002 through 2008. From 2009 through 2016, membership ranged from thirty-three to fifty-four. Membership from 2017 to 2022 ranged from forty-seven to sixty-four. The 2024 seasons set the record for the most members at eighty-one. The 2015 season added FPLeague College, which is a separate college football ATS (Against the Spread) predictions league. Twenty-three members joined the inaugural season. The 2024 season set the record for the most members at thirty-eight. FPLeague Champions
